About Me

I was a music addicted teenager, so I started djing in 1990. I always preferred a D.I.Y. attitude rather than attending musical studies. In 1996 I bought my first sampler to explore myself as a creative mind producing music, and soon I moved to London to compare with underground international djs, musicians, producers, singers and mcs and expand my “musical vision”.

Become a professional footwear and graphic designer, I kept working as an underground producer for many years. The best goal for me is to express my emotions being true to myself. I never forced to sound like a mainstream artist and follow the major’s market rules. I preferred to invest my time and budget in my music, working any time at day and night. I started producing myself independently at 360 degrees. I have been making music and djing with Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo (The Bloody Beetroots) and Ollie Teeba (Herbaliser) amongst the others.

In 2008 I opened the label “GINOTONICO PRODUCTION”. The mission of the label is to produce, promote and release independent electronic music made by underground artists who has a strong attitude and a personal style. The label is distributed worldwide by digital leader “The Orchard” in Download stores, Streaming services and Mobile channels. Since then we released Rubedo Stone, La Voce Del Campione, CafeAudio, Fernando Lagreca, Ginotonico feat. Jeanine Moss, Ginotonico rmx Nina Simone.

As a listener, I love many kind of music and I am always curious to discover new sounds. As a dj, I am specialized in Black Music (Hip Hop, R&B, Soul, Funk) and Crossover. As a producer, I am the result of anything I listen to, synthetised into electronic styles.

I am now working on a new project called “Teenage Reconstruction” to tribute my favourite Hip Hop artists of the Golden Age: Redman, Eric B & Rakim, Public Enemy, Krs-1, Wu-Tang Clan. I am taking inspiration from their lyrics to create music around them, giving a new personal twist. The first Ep will be released in 2011.
