About Me
Successful career in the music industry, Elton John's and Bernie Taupin's music publishing companies General Manager at 24,during the time of Captain Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy, Caribou and Rock of the Westies - favourite memory - Elton bring me the first and at that time only mix of "Philadelphia Freedom", and asking me to be very careful with it. We then used Revoxes and I was used to splicing tape together. When he returned for his tape, and asked my opinion, I innocently handed him a pile of tape. His face was priceless, however, so was his humour. I then joined Chrysalis Music Ltd, as Professional Manager, and became General Manager in 1977. In 1978 I was asked to move to Los Angeles to develop the music publishing companies, which I established as a leading independent under the name The Chrysalis Music Group USA, enjoying success in country, r & b, pop, rock and film. I left the company as one of only 3 Senior Vice Presidents in 1985 to manage Carlene Carter, who was my first signing to Chrysalis and enjoyed the company of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash many times at their home. I rejoined the corporate world as VP at Imago, where we worked with such amazing acts as Henry Rollins, Aimee Mann, The Baby Animals and Paula Cole. My last but one job was repping the prestigeous classical catalog, Boosey & Hawkes to Film and TV Music Supervisors, and then again managing Carlene Carter.
I now paint watercolors and still listen to all new acts and songwriters, who find me, usually via Facebook.
Additionally, I was the first woman, the youngest, and the first European to be nominated for the ASCAP Board of Directors in 1983 and was also a founder member of the LA Chapter of the NMPA and became its chairman the next year.
Have enjoyed meeting many acts and songwriters throughout a long career, and am a little famous for not always knowing who I was chatting with, such as Dave Gilmour, who I spent 30 minutes have a great talk with, before asking him who he was and what he did!
