About Me
Riddim Driven!
Its like the great Beres Hammond so eloquently sings, Music Is Life. Indeed art is life, I go by that as well. Hi, I'm your Jamaican country born city slicker, raised in San Fran. My taste in music? Try me, I'm open and practice non-judgment but instructive criticism. So far I've had the privilege to work for the likes of MSN Music, Om-Records and FatSouls records, have sung chorus in a Salsa Band, exploring Cuban and Puerto Rican standards of the type, chill off ambient and contemporary jazz, lounge like musical notes do on the ear of the listener, after working like I'm supposed to. I been an emmcee/deejayed for reggae dancehall shows or sound systems a sound systems, and preformed for years in the San Francisco carnival in a Brazilian drum and dance ensemble (bateria, in Brazilian terms) as a percussionist. My aim is to someday work on serious contemporary art projects, involving music as a medium, and my dream is to be the singer of a live band. Singing is my passion and DJing is a love, and I'm very pleased with the selction from RCRD LBL, I love exploring this blog and listening to new and different artist musicians. RCRD LBL is a top favorite for me and has very much kept my spirits up, especially because I'm usually too broke to go to the record store, and I don't steal music from the net (no judgments). Thank you RCRD LBL, your the best!
I'm chasing my dream, but every time I put on headphones, I live it! Being a San Franciscan, I love my city just as much as a New Yorker loves NY, but, I am not a nativist so let me know if you're interested in jamming, couch surfing or are just interested to know an insider perspective of the where abouts of the city. And by all means, share with me yours, I haven't had the opportunity to travel yet, but working on touring in the future. That's why I'm going for an Associates degree in business, to compliment the artistry and to be able to become financially savvy (working through my accounting class right now!).
Love RCRD as much as I do? looking to collaborate with conceptual artists? Or how about a plain old enthusiasm-gasm?! Smells like destiny and fried circuits!?! Please, don't be a stranger we have come this far. To request my resume/portfolio email me: justingayle@email.phoenix.edu
Big up every-time! peace and love.
