About Me

Hi. I am working from home as a producer.

Things are working out quite well.

I am trying to be original and get it all down

on the HDD. It's not that easy. But it is Ok.

Writing notes everyday makes some things easy, I had a

wee spot of bother back in 1991, brain problems. So

if I repeat myself it's "just one of those things".

Heavily addicted to Caffine. I keep having to clean out the cups from the studio.

Uh, yeah, I had a rather gnarly Grestch Guitar "the beast" (that was the model name) and a puncy amp, so now I have the loving whine of tinitus in my ear holes.(thanks god, you d***) I have to keep the levels down now :(

I am having a few problems with Bass Vs Clarity. It sounds so easy till you A/B tracks and hear that, well it's not that simple. How do "they" do that?

My current set up is real stripped back, A roland R8 (onboard ROM), a mic, and a VSTi ( pro 5) . Thats it. The R8 has a distinct lack of OOOmph in the kick, so I am going to split the signal and EQ the kick seperatly etc...

Influences: Well where do I start? I turned forty in august this year so I have heard a lot of different things, Istill have a softspot for the late seventies and early eighties, mostly because people where still not sure what genre they were in and anything went as long as it solid units...

My dear friend Brent connected me up with rcdlbl, so blame him :)

If anyone ones to help out with equipment I will make you regret it :) I mean I will kiss your butt.

I need a console and nearfeild monitors. I have a good PC and a fairly old sound card, which I like. Ensonique/SB pci128. It's cool. Very minimal. I want one made out of lego to hang on my wall...

Oh and a condensor microphone. I had a lend of a cloned mic and it was (breathy voice) r e a l l y g o o d.... Mmm...

I am listening to Vitalic - poison lips. Love the arpegiator.

AND I NEED a PROPHET 5, in the flesh. I played one the other day, GOD. IT WAS TOOOOOOO GOOD.

Question: Does multiband compression cause phasing?

Question: New York compression, is it a good idea?

Time to get back into the studio.

Fave film: "Electroma" It's F****** great. I love the muff in the sunset range pan shot. Very clever. Top marks.

Love you all.

PS( talking in the compression waves in front of the PA is funny)
