About Me
Born in the BIG APPLE and raised in Brooklyn. Heading into my 44th year with the music industry. Besides playing and singing, I'm a certified Luthier, Audio Tech, and an authorized repair tech for Fender and Gibson musical instruments...but my passion is "playing out", which I still do on a regular basis.
My career has afforded me the pleasure of sharing stages with many of the 'Greats' and 'Legends'in the business. They include: The Drifters, The Ink Spots, The Platters, Buddy Guy, PineTop Perkins, R. B. Greaves, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Hubert Sumlin, Rick Derringer, Steve Morse, Vinnie Martell (Vanilla Fudge), Rick Roberts (FireFall), Carlos Santana, Hadley Caliman (Santana), Sandy Gennara (Pat Travers, Davey Jones) and Gary Coleman.
As a Luthier, of course, I enjoy any kind of woodworking. Other interests include: cooking; fishing; cycling; reading, especially science, astronomy, ancient civilizations, SETI, and UFO research; electronic "tinkering"; word puzzles & games. I used to mountain climb/hike, and river raft (whitewater) before arriving in Florida.
I'm now semi-retired and living in Central Florida. I'm still performing live and in the studio with various groups...check out www.kathyjo.net ; www.accelerators.org ; a power rock trio called THRESHOLD playing classic & current rock & dance covers, as well as originals...and my latest project, a 10 year old girl named Kayla, who covers everything from JOURNEY to CELINE DIONE to PAT BENETAR, plus a pocket full of originals.
