With all the "hyphy" titles tied to the Bay Area, many artist get shadowed under its hyper yet crazy energy. But in the Urban streets of San Francisco hails an Artist with not only a unique style, but a creative approach to music. Having gone from being a crazed poet to a minor producer, rapping came to her easily and sat with her throughout the last five years. With an old school soul, and a new school flow Lady Nerd is always looking to push her image further and her sound to new heights. With influences such as Michael Jackson, Missy Elliot, M.I.A, Nas, Common, Andre 3000, Digable Planets, Cee Lo Green and newly found influence Santogold. She takes the core qualities of these artists and blends them into what she'd like to call Art in forms of music. "I'm looking to be the savior of female rap artists, because at this point in music there are few of us," she states. Using her strongly art influenced background as a gateway to standing out, she takes the matter of her music into her own hands. Spending tons of time on her computer recording, writing, networking or editing her own pictures, she is her own team.
