A graphic designer/illustrator by trade, Adam Cain aka KidVector has been DJing for over 13 years. In that time he has played along side many like minded artists including, Four Tet, Prefuse 73, Daedelus, Caribou, J Rocc, Nobody, Battles, DJ Vadim, Jamie Lidell, Jackson and His Computer Band, Icarus and One Self.
The name KidVector came from his formative years studying graphic design at Falmouth University where he was well known for his love of vector based art, something which has become a constant element of his work as a designer/illustrator.
KidVector has been involved in numerous projects within the music industry. Including the running of independent label Camshot Records, where he helped break artists Infinite Livez (Big Dada) and the excellent (and highly sought after) King Seven. KidVector also founded Akanda, an online project dedicated to monthly remix competitions, working with artists and labels such as Telefon Tel Aviv, Forss, Melodic, Memphis Industries and Ninja Tune.
The latest KidVector mix (December 2008) entitled ‘Infinity City’ was supplied as a guest mix for Dutch record label Eat Concrete’s weblog. Fitting snugly into the burgeoning hip-tronica, aqua crunk, wonky scene, KidVector prefers to use Dublab’s descriptor ‘Future Roots’ which describes music that takes inspiration from the past to look into the future.
