aggressive brush to the world's music canvas. Hailing from New Zealand's deep dark south, the rawkish post hardcore punk band have - since their 2003 inception - made it their mission to not only deliver enigmatic, blistering tracks on short, blunt releases, but to bring their blistering shows to as many towns as they can, as often as possible.
Beyond laying waste to both New Zealand and Australian shores, they have returned numerous times to the USA, the UK and Europe, with 2006 being a particularly busy year for the band - having toured the US as sole support to the Aussie trio Wolfmother, playing SXSW, CMJ and carrying out a high profile New York residency. 2007 has seen more of the same. Hitting the road incessantly; gigging, writing and generally blowing everyone's minds, it's a wonder Die! Die! Die! have found time to record anything.
Though record they have. Having previously worked with the legendary Steve Albini (Nirvana, Pixies, Shellac) at his studio Electrical Audio in Chicago and Dale Cotton (HDU, Dimmer) on their brilliant Locust Weeks and eponymous EPs, their latest effort, the anticipated album - Promises Promises, has seen them in the studio with NZ's Shayne Carter - of Bailterspace and Dimmer fame. Revisiting their brawling, infectiously abrasive sound, Promises Promises and its pummelling, primal rhythms and shard-like guitar work looks set to enhance the act's well earned misfit-savant reputation.
