The wait for Massive Attack's Heligoland ends tomorrow, but what's a release date these days without a few preceding spoilers? Again, it's only a remix, captained not by unknowns but by Kompakt's Brazilian sentry Gui Boratto, whose aptitude for emotive, hyper-precise rhythms makes him a perfect foil to the traditionally melancholic Bristol legends. So, how's it sound? Like slack-jawed Spaghetti Western techno.

Here’s a reprise of last week’s Steve Aoki dance anthem “I’m In The House,” but it’s no compliment to the original. Brighton trio Qemists gets their hands bloody slicing with a nasty techstep whip, making this destroyer all their own. Forgive us in advance for unleashing this beast on a Monday morning and brace your ears.
Sounds like: Aquasky, Ed Rush & Optical

You might know Rik Cordero from his work directing videos for seemingly every notable rapper of the past few years–Clipse, Nas, Freeway, Wale; the list is long. Now he's "crossing the lens" as one-half of the electronic duo Deranged Fan and tweaking this feature-heavy single from former A Tribe Called Quest affiliate Consequence into a growling, digitally overloaded march.
"Whatever U Want" is out now via G.O.O.D. Music and Universal Motown.

I like to imagine someone playing the plinky plonky melody to this track with one raised eyebrow and an arch grin. Why is that important? It's not - but like Fight Club, divorce and genital warts, Mock & Toof's nu-boogie is not the sort of thing you talk about. It's a dance you do with your shoulders. It's just slinky like that.
Sounds Like: Metro Area, Hot Chip, Flight of the Conchords

We're glad this one landed on the Friday schedule, because trying to untangle its blitz of hammer drums and cannon synths would be rather daunting on Monday morning. So, go forth into the weekend with Malente's Motor rerub and reimagine yourself as a joyriding android, recklessly destroying everything in your path. Just don't, you know, actually do that.
Motor's new album, Hyper Machine, is out now via Dim Mak.

According to This is Horseflesh (the nom de guerre of Egyptian Hip Hop drummer Alex Pierce) this fantastic 'reincarnation' of the band's own "Rad Pitt" was written to sound "like an '80s piano house remix of a Knife cover". Given it achieves this despite the original sounding like New Order jamming with Tracy Chapman, I fully expect to be reborn in a few year's time as a sky-conquering lion man with a jet engine heart and rubies for eyeballs.
Sounds Like: The Knife, Eden, CFCF
