EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Wiley - Never Be Your Woman (feat. Emeli Sandé) (Solo (UK) "Loves Garage" Remix)

Who would've thought it'd be Wiley who got to show Washed Out and Memory Tapes their roots? The man who invented grime takes things back to 1997, when White Town's bedroom-made hit "Your Woman" sat awkwardly atop the UK singles charts. I now hold White Town (AKA Jyoti Prakash Mishra) single-handedly responsible for the bedroom producer, DIY pop star craze, not that that's got much to do with this Solo remix, which neatly rewrites history by turning the track into a UK Funky clubber skank.

Sounds Like: Crazy Cousinz, Dizzee Rascal, Everything But The Girl

If you're in London this evening, you're gonna struggle to find anything better to do than what's on offer at new central venue P3. The three-storey concrete bunker below the University of Westminster will play host to The Big Pink, Joker and Crazy Cousinz, among others, and we've a track from the latter for you now: the incessantly percussive "Inflation" quickly turning itself into something you can point to and say "this - this is what funky house sounds like". The London collective have a fair few funky anthems, to be fair - have you checked "Do You Mind", featuring the lovely Kyla? Or "Bongo Jam"? All great, hypnotic, danced. Get yourself down to P3 tonight and have at it, fam.

Various Production are as evasive a duo as their name suggests, "MKC" flexing muscular between the eager synths of UK funky, the stumbling percussion of the 'ardkore avant-garde ('wonky' to you, perhaps) and flaring grime aggro. It's aggro, actually, that dominates the track, MC chatter prevailing over funky's usually more feminine charms, smooth grooves sacrificed for cock-of-the-walk prancing.

Sounds Like: KIG, Starkey, Roska
