After just releasing the live/b-side album Heron Act in Canada (out Sept. 30 and early 2009 in the US), and ep Tin Fist in the US (out October 7th) The Acorn have had a string of sold out shows in Canada on tour with Ohbijou and are now heading state side!
The Acorn will be touring the rest of October with Ohbijou and Shaky Hands across the West Coast and then heading east with…CALEXICO! That’s right! 15 dates in November that will take the band all the way to Albuquerque as direct support!

After giving away the 'Life Is Legal EP' for free through the Paper Bag Records website last week and receiving 4 Star reviews, Paper Bag is proud to announce the official physical release of the 'Life Is Legal EP' in Canada on CD and Limited Edition Vinyl (only 300 copies!!) and all Canadian digital retailers – Tuesday October 28th!
To celebrate the release of the EP Josh is throwing a CD Release Party with one of his good friends – Sebastien Grainger this coming Monday October 20th in Toronto’s Kensington Market at the Supermarket 9pm.
After that, Josh will be heading west in Canada with Land of Talk and then down south with Sebastien Grainger for an 11 date US tour!

Acorn - Glory Hope Mountain Vinyl - SOLD OUT!
For anyone who's unfamilliar - for the past few years Paper Bag Records has been releasing a series of exclusive vinyl albums. All albums are hand screen printed and numbered. 300 copies are typically made and once they're gone - they're GONE!
With that said, unfortunatly - we here at Paper Bag have sold out of the Acorn's Glory Hope Mountain vinyl. You MIGHT be able to find a copy in a few indie record shops, online, or even from the Acorn as they go on tour this fall - but once they're sold, that's it!

2) Live & Rarities CD “Heron Act”
Studio albums are nice and all, but there's something to be said for the, dare I say, "magic" of live recordings. Or what about the oft-repeated, but never duplicated spontaneous recording of nascent song ideas. With this in mind, Paper Bag will be releasing HERON ACT, a collection of hard-to-find live recordings, blog/radio session recordings and demos spanning their last Canadian and US tours. The album will be available from Paper Bag Records on September 30, as well as in digital form via Paper Bag Digital (www.paperbagrecords.com).

3) Glory Hope Mountain hits Europe, UK dates with Akron/Family, France & End Of The Road Festival
The Acorn will be making their way across the pond for their first European dates from September 5th - 12th in support of the Glory Hope Mountain, which will be released in Europe, Australia and Japan on October 20th by England's Bella Union label (home to Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Midlake, Dirty Three and more). They’ll be capping off this inaugural jaunt with a Friday night slot at the legendary End Of The Road Festival whose 2008 line-up also includes Mercury Rev, Low, Calexico, Sun Kil Moon and many more.
