PREMIERE: Glocca Morra - Ya'll Boots Hats (Die Angry)

Philadelphia punk rock group Glocca Morra will offer up its new album on July 10 via Kind Of Like Records. “Ya'll Boots Hats (Die Angry)” is the first track to emerge from that effort, and it's a raucous, boozy number that should have your feet stomping and your head nodding. Or, to the extreme, it’ll send you looking for the nearest dive bar.

Toys That Kill, a punk band formerly known as F.Y.P., formed back in 1989, releasing several albums on Recess Records – a label founded by band member Todd Congelliere. Now the group will release a new effort, Fambly 42, on May 15. “Stye" is a raw, boisterous punk rock number that happily pairs unpolished production with melodic instrumentation. In theory, it’ll make you sing along, but more likely you’ll be playing air guitar.

If you've been hanging out in the American underground for a minute, you probably know the work of Mr. Jayson Green – the front man/mic-choker behind bands like Orchid, Panthers and now the hardcore outfit Violent Bullshit. You may have also seen him on my TV show OUR SHOW rating movies in burgers with Kyp Malone from TV On The Radio, but that's another thing altogether so let's get into the music. "Getaway," a standout track from Violent Bullshit's excellent new LP Adult Problems, is punchy, spazzy and approximately 90 seconds long. I hate to get writerly about hardcore, so what I'll tell you is that you can mosh it out and jog to it and that it has some nice classic rock licks toward the end. Drink up!

The name of Los Angeles punk rock group FIDLAR stands for “FUCK IT DOG LIFE'S A RISK.” And if that’s not intriguing enough, the band has a raucous new EP, Don't Try, which was recently released via Mom + Pop. You can get a taste of the effort with new track “Got No Money” – a loose, garage-inspired number that pairs SoCal punk melodies with gritty lo-fi production. The track’s chorus, which goes “I got no money for you,” is as relatable as it is catchy.
DIGITAL PREMIERE: Lemuria - Cannonballs To Hurt

Buffalo, NY band Lemuria, which released its last album Pebble in 2011 via Bridge 9 Records, recently offered a new 7-inch in celebration of Record Store Day. The single, “Varoom Allure,” features a brand new B-side entitled “Cannonballs To Hurt,” which was recorded with the band’s new bass player. The punchy punk rock number, led by dueling vocals, is a welcome return to the band, which has been consistently touring on Pebble since its release. But even though we’re giving you a listen to this number, you should still go search out the actual 7-inch in the lingering spirit of Record Store Day.

Not only was this band, OFF!, born out of Keith Morris's attempt at a Circle Jerks reunion, this new song from its coming full-length debut is centered around his disappointment and, later, absence from a Black Flag regrouping. "Cracked" is, as expected, fierce, angry – and in the OFF! fashion debuted on 2010's First Four EPs – incredibly short. OFF! will be released May 8 by Vice with sixteen tracks in (around) sixteen minutes.

Cali punk rock band Pennywise will release its tenth album, All Or Nothing, on May 1 via Epitaph. The new one, recorded with Cameron Webb, is the group’s first release with new singer Zoli Téglás, who stepped-in after the departure of formative vocalist Jim Lindberg. Album cut “All Or Nothing” showcases a surprisingly seamless transition as the track retains the band’s signature heavy thrash and spitfire instrumentals.
DOWNLOAD: Dirty Fences - Sid

Brooklyn rock band Dirty Fences recently released its punk-inspired debut EP via Volcom Entertainment. “Sid,” a song off the record, is tinged with old school punk aesthetics like raw production and a fiery live feel. There’s a clear Stooges vibe resonating from the raucous track – a sensibility that is likely even stronger live. Really, if it doesn’t make you want to smash a beer bottle over your head, you’re probably not listening hard enough.
