DOWNLOAD: OFF! - King Kong Brigade

OFF! is the punk rock supergroup formed by ex-Black Flag/Circle Jerks leader Keith Morris, Burning Brides frontman Dimitri Coats, Hot Snakes/Rocket From the Crypt member Mario Rubalcaba and Redd Kross' Steven McDonald. Last year, the group released First Four EPs – a collection of 7-inch releases, and will now follow that up with their self-titled debut record coming May 8 on Vice. “King Kong Brigade” is the first track to emerge from the new effort, and the raw, vigorous number is stomping punk replete with static-heavy feedback and Morris’ impassioned yelp. It’s short, but oh so effective.
STREAM: Mission Of Burma - Dust Devil

Mission Of Burma simply aren't going to settle down. No slide guitar, no reflection on marriage and children, no playing drums with brushes or duets. Mission Of Burma will always do pummeling post-punk with a relentless ferocity, and this new one, "Dust Devil," is certainly up to snuff. Their upcoming album, Unsound, is their first in three years and will be released by Fire Records on July 9.
DOWNLOAD: DZ Deathrays - No Sleep

DZ Deathrays, a two-piece punk band made up of singer/guitarist Shane Parsons and drummer Simon Ridley, formed at a house party in Brisbane. The band released an EP, Ruined My Life, in Australia in 2009, but their most recent effort is an EP titled No Sleep and marks the group’s U.S. debut. The album comes out March 6 via 3|4 Records and is a raucous, energized collection of heavy punk rock numbers. “No Sleep” overflows with aggressively raw guitar riffs and Parsons’ guttural yelps.
DOWNLOAD: No Trigger - Permanent

Massachusetts hardcore band No Trigger formed back in 2000, finally releasing their debut album, Canyoneer, in 2006. Now the group has offered up its sophomore effort, Tycoon, via No Sleep Records. “Permanent" showcases the band’s signature hardcore punk sound, reminiscent of Strike Anywhere and early Rise Against. It’s a gritty, propulsive pummeler that makes you wonder why most punk bands nowadays need such slick production.
DOWNLOAD: Colleen Green - Goldmine

You might not know the Colleen Green, but you probably know someone like her. You know, the super rad rocker that smokes bowls in the garage and shreds pitch-perfect indie-pop like she's just kicking back with cartoons and cereal. "Goldmine" is a crunchy lo-fi charmer with wispy vocals and simple chords sitting all-too-cool behind sunglasses. It appears on Descendents-referencing Milo Goes To Compton, which is out now on Art Fag.
DOWNLOAD: K-Holes - Rats
I strongly considered trying to punch through a wall the first time I heard "Rats" by Brooklyn punk bludgeoners K-Holes. It's just so amped and raw as a mess of propulsive guitar noise, blaring saxophone and sneering vocals ooze filthy attitude. Dismania, their upcoming album, comes May 1 via Hardly Art.
STREAM: Anika - In The City (Chromatics Cover)

There's something about that late '70s New York grime. When we hear something that sounds like it – with its mix of disco, punk, attitude and dirt – we run over like little helpless animals at feeding time. That's basically what Anika has pulled-off with her cover of Chromatics' stunning "In The City." The track comes from a sampler for Invada Records, which is the imprint of Geoff Barrow from Portishead and Beak>.

If you want to go weird, there is no band finer than Black Dice. It's been like that for a decade, and if the material on their new album Mr. Impossible is any indication, it'll be like that for another one. The first taste is the irresistible "Pigs." It's a meticulously-formed, vacuum-wrapped sludge of roadhouse blues, jittery dance music, punk snarl and sonic wackiness. No, they didn't go pop, but this is Black Dice cut with an exacto knife – so pointed, calculated and worked-over that it's experimental music given the proper time to marinate and become great.
