Consider this raw dose from Electric Flower -- a new rock band from solo artist Imaad Wasif and Secret Machines drummer Josh Garza. The duo’s self-titled debut EP will be out on November 8 via Narnack Records, and this track, “Four16,” offers a glimpse of the raw post-punk psychedelia that pervades the disc. Bonus: The number was inspired by Kurt Cobain’s take on Leadbelly’s “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” from Nirvana's iconic performance on MTV Unplugged.

PREMIERE: White Denim - At The Farm (Live At The Ghost Room)

White Denim may not look the part, but its live performances present a case study in hypnosis via shredding. Riding on multipart guitar harmonies, loose drumming and crisp bass lines that stay in the pocket, the Austin quartet has graced us with an exclusive live preview of a choice cut from its new record D recorded at its hometown venue The Ghost Room. Officially released yesterday (May 24) in studio form on Downtown Records, "At The Farm" finds the band teasing blues structure, unpredictably complex solos and ramped-up jammy passages into a unique blend of down-home Texan psychedelia.

FEATURED: Black Mountain

We got a semi-frantic IM from a friend this evening, raving about the new Black Mountain LP, In The Future. We duly noted to give it a spin (we still listen to the Vancouver-based band’s 2004 EP Druganaut pretty regularly) and, while trolling the blogosphere for some new MP3s, came across a piece on the band at 5 Acts that lists all of their upcoming tour dates. Pretty convenient!
