DOWNLOAD: Billygoat - Dioscuri II

Hey kids, do you like Philip Glass? Oh Shannon, you must be joking, right? You're such a kidder. Oh you and your silly rhetorical questions, as if we don't know one of the most brilliant composers of our time. A level of innovation and skill so unparalleled, that when I tell you Portland's Billygoat immediately calls Glass to mind, please let that speak the volumes it's intended. Composing songs that bring the band's own stop-motion animation to life (projected on the wall behind them while they play), "Dioscuri II" is a prime example of this, progressive and sweetly chilling, rambling in a dreamlike manner without losing its footing. It is music made for performance that possesses the ability to stand on its own (or while viewed online), and what a rare treat when a duo excels equally—masterfully—at both their mediums. Currently on tour and receiving the rave reviews they deserve, catch Billygoat before they blow up—'cause they're gonna.

DOWNLOAD: Teengirl Fantasy - Portofino

dublab’s In The Loop vinyl series is a recent import to Anticon, and the fifth incarnation stays true to the mission of genre-bending progressive tunes and dope cover art. Sides “Future” and “Roots” include The Ruby Suns, White Rainbow, and Teengirl Fantasy’s “Portofino,” which is what we’re floating in now. The white noise and future phone arpeggio commence in a tweaked-out, lazy river ride. We’re into it! It probably induces arrhythmia in 10% of listeners, but doctor says we’ve got the ventricles of an ox half our age, so we’re gonna keep on blasting.

DOWNLOAD: ISIS - 20 Minutes/40 Years

ISIS is an L.A. drone-metal band whose fifth studio album, Wavering Radiant, marks this year’s surrender to the inevitable crescendo of transcendent noise. “20 Minutes/40 Years” is nothing less than the prototype for stretched-out, dissonant guitar ballads. It’s a slow head-bang, a black riff on an atmospheric landscape. Made for peeling out of your driveway to dump that succubus who you were gonna take to Amsterdam but now she kissed that guy at Kendall’s party so you invoke ISIS to rain sonic darkness upon us all. God, she was the one.

Sounds like: Tool, Explosions in the Sky, Sleeping in Gethsemane

The video is fun and candy-colored as well, so check it out above...
