Last Tuesday we watched Wolfmother raise the goblet of rock and toast to a sold out crowd at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. I endured some casual moshers to bring you these snaps, taking a couple elbows to the head for the cause. We suggest you nab a copy of Cosmic Egg, Wolfmother's latest LP out on Modular, and peep their MySpace for upcoming dates with AC/DC.

Last Wednesday at New York's Terminal 5, Santigold rocked a hyped and sold-out show with Trouble Andrew and Amanda Blank shaking things up as openers. Her set kicked off with "Hold The Line"–from Major Lazer's debut album–and featured an appearance from frequent collaborator Spank Rock, who also joined Ms. Blank on stage earlier in the night. If you couldn't make it, that's alright, Santi just kicked off a world-wide tour, check her MySpace for info.

PHOTOS: Buraka Som Sistema @ Bowery Ballroom

Live, the Portuguese/Afro/Brazilian collective Buraka Som Sistema provides so much aural stimulation and visual eye candy, it's hard to discern what element makes their show most titillating. It's a toss-up between their progressive kuduro beats, go-go like percussion, MIA-esque eclectic sampling, early 90's hip hop covers, multi-lingual lyrics that span from Portugal to Africa, squirt-gunning, confetti- throwing or bootie-shaking Brazilian dancers. Whatever is in their special sauce, it works: getting the crowd flailing, girls grinding on stage, boys taking their swine flu masks off and waving them about, kids crowd surfing, and an entire sold-out crowd of despondent New Yorkers onto their knees and then bounding into the air like apes just to see if they can collectively make the floor quake. That said, if you haven't seen them live yet, we bid you to, before they are packing stadiums world-wide. No joke. We'd bet a black diamond on it.

Best Grillz in Austin. (Taken On Red River.)
RCRD LBL posted 63 new artists, rocking a total of 73 tracks of the choicest artists performing in Austin last week. (Peak at the full list here.) In addition, we had a blast in the 80 degree Austin sun. To close up, we've brought you some of more memorable photos, bands, trends, and recommended late night taco finds from SXSW 2009 this year that may prove valuable for next year.
Thanks to all those who made SXSW 2009 a wicked week of music (including our super production team who made it all possible)!

Longwave @ Terminal 5
It's been Bloc Party's week on RCRD LBL. First of all, we brought you Armand Van Helden's Remix of Bloc Party's track "Signs". Second, we also caught them performing live perform with our friends, NY natives Longwave on Wednesday at Terminal 5. That night, Terminal 5 transformed into a spaceship-sized sardine can, packed with wiry, excitable teenage and adult fans - a solid mix of kids-who-play-guitar-hero-too-much and Bloc Party fanatics. Needless to say, they brought the house down. More Picts and words here.

PHOTOS: The Levi's®/FADER FORT Austin 2009 Highlights: Kanye West, Erykah Badu, Late of the Pier, Tricky, etc.

Tricky @ Levi's®/Fader Fort Thursday March 19th, 2009
Last week, Levi's® and Fader revamped a field by downtown Austin into a musical playground - with stores, washing machines, endless open bars, and large stage, from Wednesday, March 18th to Saturday, March 21st. There we relaxed, sipped lemonade and watched RCRD LBL featured artists Late of the Pier and Lissy Trullie and a horde of other new and established acts. Save too few bathrooms, the fort was pretty heavenly this year. Kanye West memorably closed out the Levi's®/Fader Fort by starting up a dance party with Kid Cudi and his G.O.O.D. crew and bringing in surprise guests Common and Erykah Badu. Click here for more picts and MP3s. Kudos to Levi's® Fader, et al. for good times.

Black Joe Lewis & The Honey Bears
Yesterday, we relished the sun in Austin, Texas while catching some choice acts as the first day of SXSW's Music Conference kicked off. Who blew our minds yesterday? Heartless Bastards, Black Joe Lewis & The Honey Bears, and Dan Auberbach to name a few. Day 1 was so high-caliber, around 1 AM last night (as we neared unhealthy beverage consumption levels), we joked about getting "I ♥ SXSW (and Dan Auberbach)" tattoos on our necks. Aweful idea but you get the point. SXSW rocks. Here's day 1 of our SXSW Diary in Pictures and some recommended RCRD LBL downloads to go with them.

Last night (3/17) in Austin, RCRD LBL joined our buddies at Media Temple and Virb to host a party at La Zona Rosa for the finale of SXSW Interactive and the kick off SXSW Music. Party highlights included musical performances by Voxtrot, Winter Gloves, and a DJ set from Franki Chan, in addition to other attractions like a mechanical bull. Thanks to all our friends who jammed with us! More photos after the jump.

WILDBIRDS & PEACEDRUMS
If you were lucky, you caught Lykke Li in one of her sold-out shows at Webster Hall or Music Hall of Williamsburg this Tuesday or Wednesday. A surprising treat was the opening act, the Swedish husband-wife duo, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, who unsurprisingly have got great chemistry- - building each song to a pulsing, fierce climax with vox, synths, and dueling drums. Meanwhile, Lykke Li was a firecracker - jumping around, tooting her whistle, and generally seducing the crowd with her infectious energy and nymph-like good looks.

Tears on top of the Port-a-potties
Here's a lil' added bonus to our daily music mania- a couple quick snaps of Obamarama in DC this week...Though I didn't see the President up close and personal, throughout the Mall on Wednesday, the spirit was infectious - with rosy-cheeked kids, American flags, people hanging from trees, bedazzled Obama t-shirts, Zulu tribal men, and one look-alike of one of Santogold's backup dancers...
