Plaid with Eliot Lipp at the Knitting Factory

i first encountered Plaid's work as 'The Black Dog', about 10 years ago, on the same day that i bought UNKLE's 'Psyence Fiction'. it is with great humility, though, that i admit to buying 'Psyence Fiction' because i thought the cover was totally rad - i had no idea what it was. this was one of my strategies to buying music when i was in my early teens.
but come on, tell me this isn't $16.99 worth of cool when you're 14 years old:

a few years later i encountered 'Not for Threes' and 'Double Figure' in pretty quick succession (to my great enjoyment), and only subsequently made the connection betwixt Plaid and Black Dog.
needless to say, their distinctive sound has earned them a distinguished place in the electronic music world - garnering them opportunities to do some brilliant work with Bob Jaroc and a film soundtrack (Tekkonkinkreet), let alone their impressive catalogue of albums and EPs produced under many names and across many labels.
if you happen to be in the New York metro area this friday night, you can see them with Eliot Lipp at the Knitting Factory and enjoy one of the finest live acts in the business.
hope to see you there.
