Go-Go “Day ‘N’ Nite”
At the Wale show at LPR in New York City last night, Kid Cudi droped by to say what up - so of course, Mr Folarin’s backing band UCB took the opportunity to coat “Day ‘N’ Nite” with tons of mumbo sauce in their impromptu live go-go version.
FG in Beatport Awards
The Crookers remix of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite” won Best Indie Dance/Nu Disco Track and A-Trak’s remix of Boys Noize’s “Oh” won Best Electro House Track in the 2009 Beatport Music Awards. Next year we’re gunnin for that Best Psy Trance!

The Fool’s Gold After Dark showcase in Austin last week was insane in every possible way, from the turnout (line down the block and around the corner all night!) to the tunes, as the whole roster dropped stellar sets packed with new joints and dence detonators. Even when the sound unceremoniously got cut during Mehdi’s set due to arcane Austin liquor laws, he still managed to smash it! Kid Cudi came through and surprised us with a quick set, fans and well-wishers included everyone from Clinton Sparks and Steve “Buddy” Aoki to MCs like Curren$y, Mistah FAB and Izza Kizza, and an amazing time was had by all.
Thanks to everyone at Scion, Palm Door/Beauty Bar and Red Stripe for lending a hand, and thanks to all the shutterbugs who put their pics on Flickr to make this wrapup possible, Catch lost his camera while crowdsurfing shirtless later in the week (smoove….) but the FG Flip cam made it back alive with video.

Kid Cudi’s original “Day ‘N’ Nite” finally has a video, which premiered earlier today on 106 And Park and was directed by Parisian homie So Me. It has been amazing to see the record take on such a life of its own in the year since we first released it, and we’re definitely proud of Cudi and all his success. Grab the “Day ‘N’ Nite” single on iTunes if you haven’t already!
Fool’s Gold Remixed Vinyl
Our promo-only Fool’s Gold Remixed 12″s finally arrived in the house house house. Four of the biggest tracks off our Scion A/V compilation from this past fall on one thick slab of vinyl: Chromeo’s funked up take on Treasure Fingers’ “Cross The Dancefloor,” Surkin’s choppy version of Nacho Lovers’ “Acid Life,” Rusko dropping dubstep bombs all over Kid Sister’s “Pro Nails,” and Jori Hulkonnen’s hypnotic, techy remix of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite.”
This is a limited, one-time only pressing for friends, fam and assorted DJs, but we were able to get a few copies over to Turntable Lab, so cop it while you can!
