As soon as the Kid Sister remake of “I’ll House You” dropped, we knew it was only a matter of time before a mash with the original “housapella” would surface. Lo and behold! DJ Mighty Mi’s “Generation-less Mix,” which you can download here.
Kid Sister “I’ll House You” (Produced by Treasure Fingers)
“I’ll House You” is a brand-new Kid Sister track, recorded specially for Reebok’s Classic Remix project. The sneaker giant commissioned re-interpretations of beloved throwback tunes by current artists, and Kid Sis’ personal contribution is a take on the seminal Jungle Brothers / Todd Terry hip-house track “I’ll House You.” Fellow FG fam Treasure Fingers provides the beat (his ATL strip club roots are showing!) and the whole thing enjoyably connects the dots between two generations of uptempo club rap. For an upcoming Reebok x Foot Locker campaign, Kid Sister re-interpreted the Jungle Brothers (and Todd Terry!) classic “I’ll House You,” with none other than Treasure Fingers on the beat. Their new version will be dropping very soon, meanwhile here’s a little promo vid about the Reebok campaign - Kidz In The Hall kicked it off a month or so ago, and B.O.B. is up next.

The Fool’s Gold After Dark showcase in Austin last week was insane in every possible way, from the turnout (line down the block and around the corner all night!) to the tunes, as the whole roster dropped stellar sets packed with new joints and dence detonators. Even when the sound unceremoniously got cut during Mehdi’s set due to arcane Austin liquor laws, he still managed to smash it! Kid Cudi came through and surprised us with a quick set, fans and well-wishers included everyone from Clinton Sparks and Steve “Buddy” Aoki to MCs like Curren$y, Mistah FAB and Izza Kizza, and an amazing time was had by all.
Thanks to everyone at Scion, Palm Door/Beauty Bar and Red Stripe for lending a hand, and thanks to all the shutterbugs who put their pics on Flickr to make this wrapup possible, Catch lost his camera while crowdsurfing shirtless later in the week (smoove….) but the FG Flip cam made it back alive with video.

As Kid Sis puts the finishing touches on her looooooong awaited LP, we went ahead and dropped this treat especially for all the record spinners out there who were her earliest supporters - an official single for album cut “Get Fresh” exclusively on vinyl and Beatport, where you can buy it today! It comes complete with brand new remixes from homies Zombie Nation (who’s “Lower State Of Consciousness” as ZZT provided sample fodder for the original) and Alex Gopher.
