33 Hz, comprised of Benny Lowe, Timothy G. Wagner and Brion Isaacs, combines French-touch house, disco, and a bit of slick R&B into danceable electro confections. As for this track remixed by the mysterious yet talented Morten Sorensen? If you don't already know the soundmixer Sorensen, his bio reveals: "Hailing from a small mackerel fishing village in southern Norway, 22-year old Morten Sorensen enjoyed a ten year spell spent in New York whilst his dad worked for the UN’s international maritime commission developing a love of dusty old NY disco that was to irrevocably shape his future." Pretty elusive, eh? Check it; 33 Hz is playing with a slew of talents tonight at our buddies Bond's showcase in Austin. Info below and flyer after the jump.

Throwing some filtered French touch steez atop what is essentially a two chord pop song, this extended version of Thieves Like Us' "Drugs In My Body" might be the most blasé tune about being intoxicated that we've heard in awhile. If Calvin Johnson started making tracks with DJ Falcon, it would sound exactly like this: classy Euro bump and cutesy playvoicing over it. It's pretty awesome, hence why we signed the group to RCRD LBL, so if you dig this make sure to go cop their album at your digital retailer of choice (iTunes, Amazon, eMusic) The band's touring around beautiful Eastern Europe at the moment, DJ'ing and gigging their way through Croatia, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Over there, parties go well past dawn, so guys, this tune would be a perfect set-closer and sun-riser for you. Just saying. Dates below the tuneage.

When Justice began their maximalist takeover in 2007, their distortion-thick tunes smashed open the door for a slew of like-minded producers (and the entire Ed Banger crew) to follow close behind. Spitzer, a French duo of brothers, might be lumped into the same movement at first blush, as tracks like "Rainbow Warrior" feature spliced vocals and distorted, stadium-ready melodies. But things get more complicated to classify on the jaunty "Avida Dollars," which leaps from its blocky staircase progressions into a leaning shuffle of syncopated bass and synth jabs. But the real crown jewel and likely lead single for Spitzer's forthcoming "Rollercoaster EP" is the glossy and relaxed "Rainy Winter Syndney," which smears melancholy tones over popping percussion, with more than enough energy for heads to nod but chilled enough to keep feet planted (and variety-wise, that's a good thing). Spitzer may have broken through on Justice's overdriven wave, but tunes like these suggest they could soon make their own.
