Check this week’s edition of my Fader blog for more fun and adventures that include a visit to Alex Gopher’s studio (pictured above… on the right… I’m on the left).

My “Around The World” series continues! Read the captivating new entry here.

Our musical bros at The FADER have just released the new issue of F2, their online-only mini-magazine geared to showcase all the cool bits that they couldn't cram inside their monthly print issue. The first issue of F2 focused on New Disco (and featured Cut Copy on the cover), but the new installment takes a brisk swerve to the grimier aspects of musical culture with a New Rock special. Featuring profiles of Jay Reatard, The Death Set, White Denim, Russian Circles, Port O'Brien and Monotonix, it's a must-read for anyone who's every downed a bottle of Uncle Jack and tried to molest the jukebox at their favorite dive bar. Bonus, the entire issue was written by none other than our very own David Bevan, so if you've been enjoying Mr. Bevan's musings on RCRD LBL, be sure to give F2 a gander.
We've released MP3s by a lot of the artists featured in the new F2, so check out the tracks below for a sort of musical guide to the issue.

As you know, we've been holding it down with our friends from Levi's and the FADER all this week at the Fort in Austin. It's been awesome to have so many of our artists and friends roll thru our Rec Room, vibe out and download a few of the 60-plus tracks we released over the past four days to their phones, iPODS, etc. Also, we have these giant four foot posters of our bands on the wall in our Rec Room (thanks intern Erik!) that are so dope we sorta can't believe it. We'll have some snaps of those, as well as some live shots of a grip of artists once Faith Ann wakes up and sends them over to us.
Anyways, yesterday was killer. Lou Reed plus friends (Moby, Thurston Moore, My Morning Jacket) played an all star set of Lou's songs just as the afternoon was winding down and later on, NERD kissed the stage to close out the night with a BANG-ING version of "Lapdance". FADER will have more links as the day goes on, but here's a few to get you started and catch you up while I drink some coffee to get the wheels turning for yet another day of jams and friends. Massive!

We're sorry. We really should have told you all sooner that we'd be posting up at the Levi's/FADER Fort in Austin all this week in our very own RCRD LBL Rec Room. But if we can just say it now, man are we psyched to be here. More news, updates, photos from Faith Ann, stories about British rockers from Cameron and more to come, but for now here's a grip of links from the FADER.com to fill you on what's been going down so far. More soon!
