Do you remember those Zola Jesus tracks we posted a little while back? Pretty big, weren't they? The girl - real name Nika Roza Danilova - could wail, belting out distress calls over lo-fi scratch and four-track hum. It's Nika who lends her voice to "The Bull And The Ram", one of the first tracks to emerge from the ranks of Former Ghosts, also the project of Freddy Ruppert (ex-This Song Is A Mess But So Am I) and Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu). It's as if melodrama itself threw together this indie-rock 'supergroup', the three of them sounding like they recorded this in a storm-battered lighthouse, Nika singing as if to a dead lover over scared electronic bleeps and curtains of deep house synth.
