FEATURED: Sammy Bananas at the Fool's Gold RCRD LBL blog

Maybe it’s just the years of narcotics-induced dementia, but we think this Sammy Bananas track that Fool’s Gold just linked to, called “All the Girls”, is all kinds of hilarious. As soon as it starts we titter with glee, and not only because we have the maturity level of a third-grader. It’s really catchy, lethally so, and we’ve been finding ourselves muttering, “All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom” under our breath in public. A lot.

So, Moby ended up packing the house at Music Snobbery's birthday bash, and it looked like an earthquake of a blast. We thought we'd share this video of the Mobster doing "Porcelain", an old classic from back in the day. Gosh, those were the days.

Another weekend, another mind-blowing dance party at People Don't Dance No More, the electro night put on my our pals Robot Blair and Dave Bruno. This week, come out to Love to check out a very special tag-team set by Nick Chacona (2020, Hector Works, Mood) + My Cousin Roy (of Wurst Edits fame). And of course, RCRD LBL homie Jacques Renault will be holding down the fort as well. The party is free with an RSVP to peopledontdancenomore@gmail.com or $10 at the door.

You know where to find us.

FEATURED: Moby, DJ Mehdi and Tommie Sunshine hold down Hiro tonight

Tonight, we happily haul ass down to Hiro Ballroom for another edition of Degenerates, Moby's downtown throwback to the olden days of the Manhattan house music scene. This week he's holding down the fort with NYC stalwart DJ Tommie Sunshine (he of the ever-expanding facial hair) and one of our favorites from the influential Ed Banger crew, Parisian institution DJ Mehdi. It's bound to be good times al around, so we'll see you on the dancefloor. Bonus: last time we saw Tommie DJ (we think it was opening for the Sounds at WEebster Hall a few months back), he had this awesome girl dressed as a Gothic Lolita dancing by him at all times... we hope she'll be back.

Another year, another Winter Music Conference is boldly behind us, but not without wrecking its usual carnage of ringing ears and hangover headaches. The whole Fool's Gold crew were present, of course, with their main man DJ A-Trak contributing his own recap to the FG blog. Check out both posts below for harrowing tales of giant lobsters, snakes, MSTRKRFT, South Beach parties, and of course, amazing music.

VIDEO: Diddy and Claude VonStroke destroy Miami

Apparently, when you party in Miami with Diddy, things get wild, really wild, really quickly. Last week, we posted about Claude VonStroke playing a show with his Diddiness during this year’s Winter Music Conference, but little did we (or they, for that matter) realize the party-fueled carnage that would ensue. Check out a video of the events at the dirtybird RCRD LBL blog. Spoiler: there’s a naked lady in a giant champagne glass.

Plant Music have been going strong this month: after releasing songs from Swedish electro producer Kap10Kurt, we’ve now moved on to Kasper Bjorke, a Copenhagen-based producer and DJ who makes mesmerizing house music inspired by everything from shoegaze to straight-up rave culture. “Igo Ugo” is long and repetitive (in a good way, obviously!), and when we pump it from our iTunes, we can almost see ourselves dancing the night away on a beach in Ibiza, or a dirty dance club in Berlin, or our moderately unkempt bedrooms. It’s transcending, and that’s what makes in interesting. Check out the download below:

If you’ve ever seen Simian Mobile Disco live, you’ll know that, much more than a mere electro set, they create a hyper realist sensory experience using their heady dance music and an intricate light show. Now imagine that set up within a space show. Simian and the American Museum of Natural History’s “One Step Beyond” concert series seems like a match made in heaven, and to celebrate this holy union of awesome, we’re giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky RCRD LBL winner. In order to enter, subscribe to our mailing list (field located at your right), and then send an email to contests@rcrdlbl.com with SIMIAN in the headline. Winners will be picked at random. Good luck! Flyer and additional info after the jump.
