In a bit of a surprising move, our partners at Dim Mak are putting out a new single from New York electrooutrageistsFischerspooner. Titled "Supply & Demand" and out November 17th, it will, of course, come backed with a grip of remixes, notably this propulsive one from Toronto's AutoErotique. Fischerspooner will also be DJ'ing the third Cloak & Dagger party next Thursday, the 12th, alongside Junior Sanchez, Ninjasonik, Michna, and a ton of others. We're giving away two pairs of tickets to that, so if you can and want to go, email contests@rcrdlbl.com with the subject "CLOAK & DAGGER" and we'll select a winner at random. Flyer after the jump.
Despite the dubious omission of any New York City acts from the line-up, we are psyched for Saturday's first HARD NYC at Terminal 5 because, like, why not? Have you seen who's playing? Crookers, Major Lazer, Jack Beats, Rusko, and Destructo–you know your Google Reader totally just imploded. We'll be there raving per usual, but we're also giving away a pair of tickets so you can do the same for free. To enter, email contests@rcrdlbl.com with the subject "HARD NYC"; we'll select a winner tomorrow morning. Full flyer and music from those playing after the jump.
Today is the first day of September, which means that summer is probably maybe officially on its way to being over. As their swan song to an incredibly well-received season at the BKLYN Yard, Sunday Best are bringing in DJ Harvey to close things out, with an after-party at The Bell House featuring a secret special guest. Monday is Labor Day so we imagine things will go pretty late. We're giving away a pair of tickets to the day festivities (also includes free admission to the after-party) so if you want a shot at going email contests@rcrdlbl.com with the subject "DJ HARVEY" and we'll select a winner on Friday. Footage of Justus Kohncke's appearance from this week is above.
On September 5th our partners at Dim Mak launch a new party at Santos in New York called Cloak & Dagger. They're flying out some of LA's best for the kickoff, including a few secret guests who will be in town for Electric Zoo. We're giving away two pairs of tickets in addition to some tees from the Dim Mak collection, so if you'd like a shot at those email contests@rcrdlbl.com with the subject "CLOAK & DAGGER." We'll select two winners at random. For those that can't make it and just want some music, below is a new song from party participant Jason Stewart aka Them Jeans. Full flyer with all the info after the jump.
New York's Sunday Best is working itself into something of an institution (thank the New York Times), and though their season is in its final weeks, what a fine couple of weeks those will be. We're giving away a pair of tickets to this week's party with Detroit legend Theo Parrish, so if you want a shot at going for free, email contests@rcrdlbl.com with the subject "THEO PARRISH" by Friday. We'll select a winner at random. Full flyer with all pertinent info after the jump, footage from last week's edition with Motor City Drum Ensemble above.
It's been some time coming, but we finally have a winner for the Daniel Merriweather "Change" remix contest. Congratulations to Red Light District, their mix was personally selected by Daniel and Mark as the winner, and will subsequently be featured here on our homepage for the duration of this week. Other entries can still be found here. Hit the break for a brief note from Daniel, as well as a look at the Top Five Most Downloaded that were up for selection. And a huge thanks to all those who entered, your response was truly incredible.
