FEATURED: Telepathe Are FInally Putting Out A Proper Release

Everything you want to know about Telepathe you can read in this feature on them Matthew Schnipper wrote for The FADER. Something unmentioned in that feature, though, is that my friend TJ lives with Melissa in that loft on McKibbin St. and that his bedroom door is actually featured rather prominently in the magazine. It’s also his twenty-first birthday this week so go him, drink beers. Since that feature, though, we’ve all been awaiting a proper release from the Brooklyn duo, and just this week IAMSOUND Recordings (home to Little Boots, The Black Ghosts and more) announced they’ll be putting out the Chromes On It EP, a two-song twelve-inch and download bolstered by hot remix goodness from the likes of Mad Decent and Free Blood. Pre-Order that here. We’ve still got “Chromes On It” up and available for download, so grab that below and get stoked for some art-club freaky shit from Telepathe when they come through your town this fall on tour with Diplo and Abe Vigoda (what a lineup, eh?), dates after the jump.
Sounds like: Diplo, Le Tigre, Bikini Kill covering Three Six Mafia

So the first good news of the week, or perhaps month, is that LA Riots is doing 4 free shows with Felix Cartal and the Bloody Beetroots courtesy of Scion in the end of April. Ever since they let us lounge in the plush seats of their luxury-sized tour bus this spring (see INTERVIEW and details here), we've been eying them for new releases. So good news numero dos is they've just released new gnarly tracks. Better yet? The boys also invited their friends, like Bloody Beetroots, White Noise and Le Castle Vania, to remix tracks as well. I guess that's what DJs who like DJs do for their DJs friends. (Let's be honest, if I were BFFs with Bloody Beetroots, I'd hand them my whole damn I-Pod and say "Go ahead, fuck with whatever you want...as long as I can keep it. and maybe sell it. Later bud. ') Regardless, in case you weren't salivating yet, here's a free taste from the compilation, Toxic Avenger's Escape remixed by the bloody boys themselves.
PS For more news on the Scion tour, stopping through San Fran, LA, NY and Chicago end of April), check LA Riots myspace for more details.
Sounds Like: MSTRKRFT, Laz, Justice, Boys Noize

When I think of Curibita Brazil these days, I have this image of a sweaty raging dance fest. This is because recently, the city has been churning some infectious DJs, like Bo$$ In Drama, and crazy DJs-turned-riotous-bands like Bonde Do Role. Bonde Do Role translates as "Joyride Trolley" in Portuguese and Bonde Do Role needs no instruction on how to have fun. They taught us Americans how in a zealous fashion at this years Coachella- with tiger masks and group dance-offs. Thank you Diplo for finding these tykes and bringing them state-side for summer tour. Today we bring you "Contaminada" - which is baile funk mets Daddy Yankee-esque reggaeton - sung in dirty Portuguese- complete with trumpet backing track, seductive female oohs and frog ribbets.

Sauce it up Brazilian style. At least that's what Bo$$ in Drama, aka 20 year-old Péricles Martins, has been doing in his native Curitiba, South of Brazil. Asides from remixing Yo Majesty and Bonde De Role, he's crafted some bawdy, glitch-fried, electro jams worthy of serious big-booty shankin. He doesn't hesitate to call out 'bitches' and 'Britney Spears' in between snatches of Italo disco slash jungle slash baile funk. The songs below are perfect when surrounded by mohitos and strobe lights in either B-k or Bra-zil.

Blamma! Blamma!'s bangers soak the senses with oscillating waves of banger ferocity. The UK DJs have intensified some of our favorite artists' tracks (The Teenagers, Blood Red Shoes, and Maximo Park), as well as introduced us to a few more (like the fellow UK cats the Rival Joustas and Headland below). It's the type of stuff a DJ would slide in around 4: 47 am at his peacher pulpit, as a secret weapon to keep everyone hopping off the walls, glow sticks flying, heads and feet pulsing in sync.

FEATURED: Rye Rye plays Le Royale tomorrow

Recently we've been really into Baltimore wunderkind Rye Rye, the teenage rap-superstar-in-the-making whose DJ Blaqstarr-produced "Shake It To The Ground" is putting all other female MCs to shame right now (except maybe Yo Majesty). Every time we hear it played out it makes our night. There are few things we enjoy in huge club tracks more than vocal edits, and luckily that seems to be Blaqstarr's forte.
Rye Rye will be playing a Roxy Cottontail show at Le Royale in NYC tomorrow night, and we expect to see you there: check the flyer above for more info and the video for more Rye Rye goodness.

By now the story of the hip electronic music scene in Berlin has been told and retold. But guess what? It's not going anywhere. At this point the German capital has enough ex-pats alone to support years of great stuff (looking at you Richie Hawtin, Stewart Walker, Deadbeat et al.)
Indie rockers like Animal Collective have mined the scene for remixes (Pantha Du Prince and "Bonefish"), Hot Chip has worked with the Get Physical crew and hip labels everywhere are scouting the scene for the next talent.
Cue Ostgut Ton.
A label built around the talent within the Panorama Bar (without a doubt the city's coolest nightclub), Ostgut Ton has already dropped a stunning mix CD from hot DJ Cassy and rep a particular breed of German techno--deep, dark and insular. Now they release their first artist album, from resident DJ Prosumer and his partner in crime Murat Tepeli.
"Go Silla" features low-slung synths and an acid line that sinks and sways like you might do at Panorama Bar at around 10am the next morning. It's not revolutionary, and it's more subtle than the movement of the sun, but it's still quite kind on the ears.

We'll get more and more from the clubbing capital in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned.
