DOWNLOAD: Tittsworth - Here He Comes (feat. Nina Sky & Pitbull) (DJ Day Remix)

Tittsworth just released his "Maneater"-nodding, Nina Sky and Pitbull-featuring "Here He Comes" as a single through Plant, which is good news for fans of boomy Baltimore club and appropriated Hall & Oates hooks. This version from DJ Day, which is basically a classic disco/Bmore hybrid, isn't on that release since it came out on the 12 Steps Remixes EP through T&A last year. But, now we have an excuse to post it, and the passage of time doesn't make it any less next level.

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Lords Of Flatbush - 999 (Toddla T & Ross Orton Remix)

OK, so it's kind of lame to get your press shots done in front of a graffed up brick wall, but Lords Of Flatbush deserve some cut slack: Steve N Edwards - songwriter - and Phil Jones - engineer - have spent more than one decade bashing out hits from behind the scenes, for the likes of Cassius, Boy George, Pulp and Take That (yeah, pretty 'eclectic'.) Anyway, now they're taking their turn in the sun as LOF but, ever selfless, have given this one over to their mate Toddla T to rework. You know what you're getting with Toddla - it's always gargantuan fun and bigger bass, funky house chase scene music for a cartoon clubland.

Sounds Like: Basement Jaxx, Calvin Harris, Gracious K

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Sidney Samson - Riverside (Let's Go!) (feat. Wizard Sleeve) (Breakage Remix)

Sidney Samson's "Riverside" has been attracting more interest online recently than a Rachel Bilson sex tape, as over 1.8 million MySpace plays attest. I'm willing to bet at least half of those hits, though, have come not from amorous spods but from Ibiza's returning party heads - the track basically owned the Balearic isle this summer, and as such you know it's gonna work best as one of those arms-in-the-air totems clubland occasionally whips up; like "Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit" or "Day 'N' Nite". This Breakage remix doesn't stand in the way of that destiny; treating the original's buzzing hook to club-ready, dubstep throw downs.

Sounds like: Rusko, The Bug, Skream

RCRD LBL pal and Fool's Gold co-founder Nick Catchdubs recently linked with Proper Villians for this flip of the Cataracs' "Club Love," morphing the Berkeley duo's vocodered club rap into an elephantine trunk rattler. Grab the MP3 below and for more Catch remix work, hit the Fool's Gold blog for his version of Udachi and Jubilee's "Paypur."

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Apache Beat - Your Powers Are Magic (Cubic Zirconia Remix)

Who would have thought it - Apache Beat, just as at home in Fabric as they are on Native American reservations. Cubic Zirconia have turned "Your Powers Are Magic" into something of a totem pole for club kids and chieftains alike, huge, whomping bass bins stacked high to rally around, vocals chopped and screwed into strange mantras.

Sounds Like: Matias Aguayo, Benny Benassi

DOWNLOAD: The Brown Acid - Try Humanity (Starkey & Zomby Remixes)

Belgium's The Brown Acid emailed us randomly, which is sometimes a hard way of getting a reply. But, you know what's a good way to get a reply? Call yourselves something like The Brown Acid. And come bearing an EP of twitchy electro-soul with flips from rising Philly rave caver Starkey and London's notoriously shadowy Zomby. Their versions of single "Try Humanity"–Starkey's a bionic, neon-touched dubstep reworking; Zomby's basically his version of a Baltimore club track–have little in common with the original, which you can stream on YouTube and buy on Monday through N.E.W.S. Records.

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Detboi - Get Low

Posted 10/12/2009 10:45 AM by Kev Kharas

Tags: club, grime, electro

If rave is excess, then Detboi's doing well: "Get Low" jamming every raver cliche known to man into - what? - just over four minutes. That's two decades or so of history, neatly surmised in sirens, whistles, smackdown syths, the amen break and an anonymous man instructing everyone to kneel down. I think that's what "Get Low" means, anyway - never seen no limbo pole in the clurrrb. Get this and more on Herve's new Cheap Thrills label comp, out now.

Sounds Like: A1 Bassline, Crookers, Fingers INC

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Erik Hassle - Hurtful (Zombie Disco Squad Remix)

Posted 10/7/2009 8:08 AM by Kev Kharas

Tags: baile-funk, club, tech-house

You know when someone's driving and you can just tell from the car's body language that they're driving angry? Zombie Disco Squad's remix of Erik Hassle's "Hurtful" is dance with that determined, sore edge to it that always seems to come thumping out from an angry car, windows rattling in their frames, wheels spinning. We should probably mention at this stage that Hassle is a Swedish pop star and as such is very unlikely to ever grow angry with anything, at all, ever, but who knows? Boy certainly hasn't seemed to notice his hair's on fire yet. Mop looks like Fozzy Bear's bathplug.

Sounds Like: Matias Aguayo, Sybil, Bonde Do Role

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Luke Top - Friends (Tugboat Remix) + Original

Posted 10/6/2009 11:45 AM by Samuel Duke

Tags: club, folk, indie, electronic

Since Bevan introduced LA-via-Tel Aviv musician Luke Top back in May, his other project, Fool's Gold (the band), has tickled ears both here and elsewhere. But we're still holding tight to dude's recent album, Friends, it of eminent linen-draped seaside tuneage. Resident Mad Decent producer Tugboat worked up the below flip of the title track so that it sounds like ghost raving in the rainforest (amphibious sounds!), and we've also got the original for comparison's sake (and because it's equally great).
