Whatever the case, Morcheeba's reunion with longtime vocalist Skye Edwards couldn't come at a better time. Things we learn in this remix of Gorillaz' comeback single: Chiddy Bang's Chidera Anamege was small when he was a child, the Philadelphian rap duo don't play free shows, "electric is the moon". Could these apparently disparate phenomena be in any way connected? I don't think anyone will ever really know. What I do know is that Chiddy Bang's own debut EP will be out on February 22nd and it'll soundtrack many a college party this summer.

To a metrosexual, Trolle//Siebenhaar may sound like one of those Scandinavian furniture designers who make lampshades that look good enough to eat. But instead this Danish duo Pato Siebenhaar and Ane Trolle craft icy, trip-hop grazz (an amalgam for groove and jazz? no?) that sends you straight into a sedated yet sensual state. Take a whiff of their "Shortcuts" remix below; it's opium for the eardrums.

The last bit we heard from Ibiza-based trip-hop producer George Evelyn, bka Nightmares On Wax, he was melting our minds with his dusty downtempo jam "Hear In Colour," taken from his recent Warp album Thought So... In support of the release, Evelyn will be heading stateside for the first time ever this January, bringing his "soundsystem set featuring vocalists and players" to coasts both left and right with a few stops in between. Warp shot over another track from the album in anticipation of the dates, a droney funk burner called "Da Feelin" that's packing some well chosen Naughty By Nature samples. DOWNLOAD: Reefer - Let It Go (Flying Lotus Remix)
You've probably never chilled on the beaches of another planet, overlooking the vast space that is the Milky Way Galaxy, enjoying the fact that it's just you, your thoughts, and the stars. Chances are, you probably never will either. However, thanks to Flying Lotus’ remix of Reefer’s “Let It Go” you can at least imagine you can. Reefer is one-half Nick Thorburn (of Islands, The Unicorns fame) and one-half Daddy Kev, and their combined vibe is pure down-tempo, hip-hop goodness. Their debut album—the self-titled Reefer, available Oct. 14 (via Alpha Pup)—was composed on the Maui shorelines which not only explains the tropical undertones, but also the innocuous Ecco the Dolphin sample used.

Thievery Corporation’s static grooves and dub excursions pull trans-global in their influences, but the DJ/production duo still refer to their hometown of Washington, D.C. as the “real Babylon”. It’s hard to imagine, though anyone who’s been to Ben’s Chili Bowl on U Street might actually agree with them. Promised lands aside, Thievery Corporation describe their new album Radio Retaliation (out September 23) as a “political record”, and its first track—the cloudy, Kingstonized trip-hop lounge jam “Sound The Alarm”—is available for download right here. With "thought so...", the new Nightmares on Wax groove-ridden aural road-trip set to release in a mere few days (Sep 2nd in the US - mark those calendars), the time has come for the blogging populous (blogosphere is a heinous term for the wicked) to twitter, feedburn, digg, stumble and otherwise illuminate your path to a free mp3 download of "hear in colour". A smoked-out car ride down the coast in late summer with a few friends and the windows down is probably the easiest way to describe it and incidentally, the best way to enjoy it.
