GNARLS BARKLEY APPEARS AS MTV’S ARTIST OF THE WEEK

This is a good week to catch new Gnarls Barkley. Starting on Monday (April 28) MTV offers rare, close-up glimpses of Gnarls Barkley, the chart-topping, Grammy-winning, genre-busting partnership of artist/Producer Danger Mouse and supreme vocalist Cee-Lo Green. And it finds them as confounding and fascinating as ever. As part of the network’s “52 Bands” series, Gnarls will appear in a series of spots scattered throughout the programming schedule, ranging from a few minutes to a few seconds in length. These include exclusive live performances of songs from the new album The Odd Couple, along with… well… Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo star as orderlies at a psych ward for animals. Watch as the duo performs stripped-down versions of old and new songs, in the hospital dayroom. Thrill to the unpredictable frolics as our heroes lead a group of animals on a field trip through the streets of New York. Place your bets on furry football games. And discover the complexities of romancing a mermaid. It will be a week of odd surprises.

Catch more on this from MTV here!

NBC Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams speaks highly of Gnarls Barkley.

Besides having Gnarls Barkley's hit song  "Who's Gonna Save My Soul" from their 2nd album playing on his myspace page, Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News has this to say:

"WHO'S GONNA SAVE MY SOUL -- Gnarls Barkley -- an attempt to answer the musical question: what makes a Mouse Dangerous? This song is my current obsession -- what an excellent piece of music -- it channels so much of the 60's, the lyrics tell an honest, complicated story -- this gets to you. "
