If you're familiar with the blissed out francolectro of the original, you'll notice it's still intact here, but with unwonted elements garnishing the whole— the sonically throbbing heavy bass of dubstep married with the spirit and sound of 1970s psychedelic dance music (disco!). But that's what makes Eumig & Chinon themselves, their ability to smack those two things into one. Britain meets New York City, but beget of Copenhagen. But it's not just E&C's knack for reinvention that makes the tune. Beataucue has crafted something that invites other DJs and producers to try their hand at outfitting it in their style. Sons of Philadelphia, Grandchildren, have a stronghold on fashioning folk music into electronic ballads. "Saturn Returns" is part video game synthesizers, part acoustic backyard barbecue guitars. When Brooklyn's Runaway grabs onto it, they turn it into something out of a club scene in Desperately Seeking Susan—heavy on the lowkey '80s dance vibes, obscuring the vocals into the beat.
