DOWNLOAD: AM & Shawn Lee - Promises Are Never Far From Lies (Rob Garza (Of Thievery Corporation) Remix)

AM & Shawn Lee might have a distrust of most other people, but label mates are just fine. The electro-soul group's boldly-named "Promises Are Never Far From Lies" gets even more funkified here in remix form by fellow ESL Music artist Rob Garza of electronic mainstay Thievery Corporation. The result is a metallic, droney synth haze with deep, squelching bass and AM's soulful falsetto. It's also a good one to dance to with leaves falling outside your window.
PREMIERE: Karlsson & Winnberg - The Dance (feat. Spank Rock)

Karlsson & Winnberg, the Swedish production duo behind Miike Snow, seem to have meticulously crafted "The Dance" for wild-out club effectiveness. Riding a punky electro beat, the track pivots around an impaling mixture of oddball chirps, moans and scrambled funk synths that form a raved-up home for Spank Rock to work his microphone magic. Here, this includes lines about stomping out roaches on his bedroom floor and the dance in all of our wildest dreams.
DOWNLOAD: Dominique Young Unique - Gangster Whips

From basketball courts in Tampa to international sass queen, Dominique Young Unique is a master of raved-up raunchy rap. Check the irresistible "Gangster Whips." Spitting over a genuine trunk-rattler with herky-jerky wallops of synths, Dominique once again proves that haters are in for the worst possible shame. Real talk: Her new mixtape Stupid Pretty rests firmly where M.I.A. should have ended up.
PREMIERE: Mathieu Santos - Northern Mentality (Friendly Ghost Remix)

(Photo: Leia Jospe)
You may think of Mathieu Santos as the founding bassist and chorus crooner in Ra Ra Riot, but after today you’ll think of him as the wondrous nerd in the popsicle windbreaker who gets electro-whipped to his knees by Friendly Ghost. Synthpop bomb “Northern Mentality” forgoes the chamber-pop lean of Santos’s past for slappy breaks, bullish synths and flaming bass. And oh how they fit. Check the rest of his highly melodic solo effort over on Barsuk.

PREMIERE: Toddla T - Watch Me Dance (with Roots Manuva) (SebastiAn Remix)

Toddla T = ravey pinball wizard. Roots Manuva = Britdub rapper. SebastiAn = Parisian electrobanger. Toddla T’s “Watch Me Dance” with Roots Manuva remixed by SebastiAn? A factory-built wall of chilly bleeps, bank robber alarms, and crunchy bass. No undulations, no frills, and no progression—just angry, robotic noise that your parents will never, ever understand. Play it until Toddla T’s new LP drops on Ninja Tune later this summer. Or until the ceiling caves in. Whichever happens first.

PREMIERE: Digital Leather - Sea Of Hate

Infinite Sun is one of those albums that's more biography than mere collection of tracks. Shawn Foree is the brains behind Digital Leather, who started blowing up with 2009's Fat Possum-released Warm Brother. The passing of friend and manager Jay Reatard brought a swift break from music and move to Berlin, and only now has Foree returned to the grid. Rather than pick up the pieces, "Sea Of Hate" demonstrates Digital Leather's shift to a more DIY approach in both process and product, a change that has benefitted his electro-infused blend of grime pop. Grab the LP June 21 on Volar.
DOWNLOAD: Appetite - Fiery Ring

Teddy Briggs is hungry. The drummer and self-taught producer (who performs as Appetite) has taken his taste for electronics and tropicalia and served up "Fiery Ring," a fitting scramble of Johnny Cash's original. Slowing it down island-style, Briggs adds mellow vocals to compliment the layers of drum work driving the track. It is well-polished and balmy and a fine teaser for the song writer's upcoming LP Scattered Smothered Covered, out August 16 on Crossbill.
PREMIERE: Homeboy Sandman - The Carpenter (Cassettes Won't Listen Remix)

East coast amicably meets west in this spirited rework of Homeboy Sandman's distinct indie-hip hop hybrid. The Queens, New York MC has long been revered for his rhymes, and Jason Drake takes the straight shooting track to task with a hint of instrumentals. The producer and LA resident performs solo under Cassettes Won't Listen, here dropping in piano and percussion to create a dancy cushioning around "The Carpenter's" Dostoevsky-dropping verbage. Grab Cassettes Won't Listen's upcoming LP EVINSPACEY June 21 on Daylight Curfew.
