VIDEO: St. Vincent plays at Other Music
We guess we’re totally in a female folk groove today… We just came across this video of St. Vincent, currently NYC’s premiere acoustic darling, playing an instore at Other Music and being interviewed by the staff there. The production value on this is actually pretty sweet, and “Marry Me” is slowly creeping up our most loved tracks of 2007. What’s great about her is her guitar style, which is both accessible yet subtly jarring, like she’s playing one chord and then suddenly changes her mind and plays another one instead. It’s like Cat Power meets Regina Spektor meets some really depressed, southern country chick from the ‘30s, and we love it.
