DOWNLOAD: Passion Pit - The Reeling (Shuttle's Super Club Mega Mix '99)

After months of 'blog chatter Passion Pit's debut album Manners is finally released into the warm air this week. The Massachusetts quintet seem like they have it in them to outlive your typical fast-burn indie hype band, however - singer Michael Angelakos is a singer, rather than a frontman or a vocalist and the diva potential in his throat is brought out here by drummer Nate 'Etan' Donmoyer who, in his guise as remixer Shuttle, has refixed "The Reeling" into a strutting, vogueing, four-four club crusher. Ecstatically charged synths dance with '90s house handclaps and a vocoded Angelakos as visions of this bursting from between David Guetta and Eric Prydz on sunlit FM drive-time waft absurdly across yr earholes.
