EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: The Tallest Man On Earth - It Will Follow The Rain
The Tallest Man On Earth's opened Bon Iver's recent fall tour and made both friends and enemies. Some could get into Kristian Mattsson's rough, faux-Southern rasp and some could not. The latter were probably waiting to see Bon Iver play their girlfriend's favorite songs, less open to the rust-smeared folk the Sweden native has been pushing under his TMOE guise. Admittedly, hearing a European do the down-home strummer thing isn't the easiest gig to get into, but the music should speak for itself and here it really does. "It Will Follow The Rain" is vintage bluegrass-ish folk done right--crushingly lo-fi and idealogically bleak. It's from his recent Mexican Summer release, Shallow Grave, which you can pick up at the label's MySpace. Also be sure to catch him in Austin this week, and on a fuller US tour right after.
