CMJ - Download: The Ruby Suns - Tane Mahuta

If I could have been a fly on the wall at any recording session, it would be Simon and Garfunkel's "Cecilia"-- unorthodox, perhaps, but there's something magically delicious about those three minutes of sound that I've always found fascinating. Download "Tane Mahuta" by New Zealand's The Ruby Suns and marvel at how it captures the same exuberant feeling of "Can you believe how good it sounds to beat this with that and sing together?" Plus, the fact that the song is about NZ's largest living kauri tree is reason enough to stop surfing and follow the link. Unfortunately I couldn't make their lone appearance at CMJ this week, but assuming that they got the children's choir past the bouncer at the Delancey, this must have been the best show ever.
Sounds Like: Panda Bear, Beirut, Neutral Milk Hotel
