DOWNLOAD: Dirt Crew - Boogie Down (Falko Brocksieper remix)

When it comes to DIY attitudes, punk and indie rock might be the first genres that come to mind. And yet techno and house musicians are often DIY champions, too, hopping over the label hierarchy to put their banging tunes on store shelves and in clubbers' ears. Berlin's Dirt Crew -- Break 3000 and James Flavour -- is one prominent example of this, having started (as a duo) on My Best Friend and Moodmusic before launching their own Dirt Crew Recordings to host each release since. Together, the Crew inject the brawny soul of house music into pliable tech-house grooves. After Raw, the pair's debut album, Dirt Crew has compiled their first mix CD/label comp, Collection 02, which brings together exclusive tracks and remixes from the label's roster and friends. One digital exclusives is Break 3000's springy "Chrome," a bass heavy workout that shimmies along to stabbing ostinato progressions. We also have Falko Brocksieper's tense and twisted remix of "Boogie Down," one of the Crew's 2008 singles. Get in the DIY spirit and snap these up for yourself.
