Laura Marling -  Laura Marling - Laura Marling. Though the name sounds like a character in James Joyce, Laura Marling is in fact a modern day flaxen-haired 17 year old dove- who has been blowing the minds in Britain for a while now- crafting potent melodies over delicate acoustic strokes. Regina Spektor meets Jaymay crafting blue-tinted doleful tunes, she is worth committing to memory for her music's lyrical caliber all of its own........Sometimes talent just glows on one's fingers or radiates in one's voice. Such a halo of talent probably flickered over Ms. Marling from the age of 3 when she first put her teeny fingers over the stern metal wires of a guitar. Now the halo has turned into full flashing lights - signaling you to listen.

ps Don't be surprised that her creations aren't packed with sacchrine and bubblegum like most technicolor teens. Despite her age, she sings of lonesome and loveloss with such conviction you'll want to offer her a whiskey to drown those sorrows.

Sounds Like: Jaymay, Regina Spektor, Kaki King
