Bio: Out of our nation’s capital emerged Exit Clov in 2003. Their DC-charged Post-Punk style brings a new perspective to the Indie Rock table. ... (more)
It is a sound that has been called “Kaleidoscope Pop-Noir”.
The dreamy layered vocals of Emily and Susan Hsu have the power to hypnotize. Funky rolling base lines (Brett Nierderman), psychedelic guitar riffs (Aaron Leeder) and drumming lit like a fuse (John Thayer) round out the band. Oh, they play the violin too. Exit Clov will have you humming their songs in the shower in no time.
Among a string of national tours Exit Clov frequents their unofficial home stage at The Black Cat. They have taken the stage at the All Good Festival getting the crowd both bumping and asking for the girls’ phone numbers. Exit Clov has toured Austin twice at SXSW, been featured at the CMJ Showcase and the NEMO Music Festival.
They have brewed several releases over the years including Starfish and Saskwatch early on. In 2006 they created Jolly Roget Sessions with the help of producer Roger Greenawalt (No Doubt, Iggy Pop, Ben Kweller and Ric Ocasek). Also to their credit is the acclaimed Respond Respond ep that’s coupled with two music videos. Exit Clov’s latest single District Menagerie is here for your listening pleasure. Many new goodies are due up in 2009 so stay tuned!
