That's when we have all of our street festivals, block parties, BBQs, etc. That's when we celebrate living in the greatest place on earth.
It was a hot saturday afternoon a few weeks ago so I retreated to the studio for the air conditioning and lack of BBQ invitations. In a small room with no windows, I managed to make a sun-soaked, sweaty, highlife inspired ditty. Like most of my remixes, I decided to get it out while it was still relevant, while it's still hot as hell all over California. Written, recorded, released in just over 2 weeks. We're going to debut it with a West African drumming sextet this Saturday at Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco.
