Bio: Santa Cruz, California's The Vox Jaguars are set to release their debut self-titled EP through Anodyne Records on February 10th . With two members still ... (more) in high school, the band have a an irreverent punk delivery that belies their tender ages. The Vox Jaguars have gained an ardent local following owing to their raucous gigs that showcase their modern twist on classic garage rock with tracks like ‘Swagger’ and ‘Song For The Girl’, taking cues from bands like The Talking Heads and The Velvet Underground as well as a nod to fellow Northern Californians The PeeChees in vocalist Jordy Topf’s standoffish nasal delivery.

With all its members still attending high school at the band's inception, they began playing shows around town, including opening stints for The Fiery Furnaces and Grand Ole Party which gained the attention of Brandon Phillips from Anodyne Records, who put them in the studio with Ariel Rechtshaid, producer of We Are Scientists, Valencia and the Blood Arm, among others.

The Vox Jaguars remind me of all the best reasons to pick up a guitar or throw a basement-party or start an indie label. All the best rock and roll is lusty and urgent and young and that is exactly a description of The Vox Jaguars," adds Anodyne Records' Brandon Phillips.

The band have more recently shared the stage with fast friendsScissors For Lefty and plan to tour this summer. Not keen to rest on their laurels, the band is already gearing up to record a follow-up full-length.
