- Bio: One has to take desperate measures when mental deterioration lurks around the corner. Maybe that’s why The Brown Acid have no memory of the recording sessions of ‘Try Humanity’, their debut single. They had to act fast, without remorse. Without common sense.
The Belgian electronic duo does remember the nerve-racking tension in the studio – the kind that makes you climb up the walls. Which is exactly what The Brown Acid did. Fortunately, the beats were pumpin’ and someone left a microphone on.
You might wonder why rants like “I am Impatience / gonna make ya wish U were never born” surfaced, and so do the flabbergasted members of T.B.A. “We just had to get some bad mojo out”, the guys say, somewhat perplexed. “Those lyrics, they came out of this automatic writing-thing. Think we’re going to need a whole lot of painkillers to get over them. But I guess the track saved us from total breakdown .”
Anyhooo, you’ll find more psychotic ramblings on TBA’s forthcoming album ‘Run Into The Propeller’, a record that’ll sport their luxurious mixture of electronic rock, pop, ghetto funk and skunk.
In the meantime, check out the venomous revamp of ‘Try Humanity’ by Philadelphia’s Starkey and the warped rave-up by UK’s Zomby.
So dance if you want to stay sane.
We’ll catch you at the next session. (less)
