“Italy’s The Bloody Beetroots have been polarising opinion virtually the entire time they’ve been making music. The mask-wearing, punk rock-citing duo has made plenty of friends, and plenty of enemies, with their distinctive brand of electro and fidget house.
With a new album dropping, Romborama, the masked duo is bringing their raucous shows back to Australia, as part of the Stereosonic festival. The Bloody Beetroots are Bob Rifo, who makes all their productions and remixes, and Tommy Tea, who joins Rifo behind the decks. To their fans they are purveyors of a revolutionary brand of banging party tunes; to their haters they make nothing but mindless, cheap noise.Rifo, perhaps unwittingly, fuels the haters’ fire with ostentatious comments such as, “I thrive on anarchy. I want to create panic in everyone who insists on classifying what they perceive”.
Their insistence on wearing Venom (one of Spider-Man’s arch enemies) masks on stage and their constant references to their hardcore, punk rock roots do nothing to convince their detractors that Rifo and Tea are not taking the whole thing a little too seriously (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing)…."

"The Bloody Beetroots do have the musical capacity and intelligence to produce amazing music and come up with an album that will still appeal to the pill poppers and club fiends but will also appeal to a broader audience. They truly shine far above all the copy cats and bedroom producers of the past few years and with their debut album.”

“Romborama is a testament, a manifestation, of technique, skill, and pure emotion that lingers in the minds of Bobby Rifo and Tommy Tea”

SIR BOB CORNELIUS RIFO & TANINO LIBERATORE Present...
The release of "ROMBORAMA", the highly-anticipated debut album from THE BLOODY BEETROOTS!
This is the fusion of two concepts, describing Sir Bob Cornelius Rifos anarchical musica opera. The album destroys the notion of musical genre, expanding the meaning of Music in a period in which this term is in serious jeopardy. In this collection of twenty original tracks, the only common denominator is electronic. It is a journey into the mind of Sir Bob, oscillating between techno, punk, classical and baroque, soundtrack for film, house, italo-disco and hip hop.
Each song has its own inner world, explored with the help of featured artists of the calibre of JUSTIN PEARSON (All Leather), LISA KEKAULA, THE COOL KIDS, BETA BOW, CECILE, STEVE AOKI, J*DAVEY, and VICARIOUS BLISS.

In the beginning, there were two mask wearing Italian producers who hit the ground running with a slew of dope rave-rock jams that spread like wild fire.Imagine the love child of the Misfits and Daft Punk; the act of conception would be grisly, but what a mighty offspring their union would generate. A formidable force a la the Bloody Beetroots.Bob Rifo is the not-so-secret identity of the mortal behind the Bloody Beetroots. In the studio, it is he—and he alone—who is responsible for their myriad creations. When it comes time for the Bloody Beetroots to perform live they split into two: Bob Rifo and Tommy Tea (The Bloody Beetroots Dj Set). These are not a couple of guys twiddling knobs; this is the DJ set as primal punk rock show. “Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo inspired a brand of revolutionary fervor, yet with exuberance, not outrage. There’s a riot goin’ on, and you’re all invited.” (Kurt Reighley)
“Big room house now exists as an okay thing for everyone to like. Bloody Beetroots float around awesomely in that continuum—they make disco-y over the top organs sound like the hardest thing ever and wear what look like bootleg black costume Spiderman masks or actually maybe Spawn masks.” (FADER)
Part of the mid-2000s hip-hop movement that found kids in all-over prints rapping about their shoes and their favorite forms of transportation (which often weren’t cars), the Cool Kids proved to be both an Internet and live show phenomenon. The duo of Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish met in mid-2005 after Mickey came across some of Chuck’s beats online and liked what he heard. Originally with the intentions of making beats to sell to other artists, they soon realized their own measured, smooth flows and lyrics fit best over their production. The Cool Kids’ irresistible, hooky rhymes and club cramming beats seamlessly bridge the old and new schools of hip hop while assuring them a sure-fire path to world-wide attention.
”Chuck and Mikey have been lauded for their alt-B-boy fashion sense: brightly colored vinyl jackets, shell toes, hats and scarves. From their rope chains to their spare, bass-heavy beats, Chuck and Mikey bring a knowing wink to the style of Eighties heroes like Eric B and EPMD.” (Rolling Stone)
