  • Bio: We are a band that does most everything ourselves. Though we are technically on a label, it is an artist-owned label. Basically, a few folks got together and figured if they joined forces, they could get distribution for their work. That's how Autobus happened. The label actually belongs to the core members of the "Wheel Collective," which I think is a different thing than the Tonewheel Collectve, but I'm not quite sure how. But they got some pretty good distribution, with Forced Exposure, Darla, Parasol, and Carrot Top all distributing the records. Autobus also works closely with Other Music, a very cool NYC music store.

Anyhow, I wanted to put out some records and my friend Tommy, the business manager at Autobus, offered to help, and so, with the blessing the Wheel Collective (Jared, Martin, Mark, Nathan), we've done a few limited runs of some albums that will hopefully one day be released on vinyl, overseas, re-mixed, etc. We as a band still gotta pay for everything, so the quantities are limited and we haven't been able to do 7"s or any of that fun stuff. But we have been able to put most everything out that had been locked away, so that makes us happy. Some of the songs are final versions, and some may be re-visited. Some are better in earlier versions. I figure with this whole "digital media" thing, everything will eventually be available. But if everything is available, is anything valuable? Do the economics of "supply and demand" apply to artwork? Perhaps.

More music will be coming along as it's ready and properly edited and packaged, that much I can promise you. I suppose I am what Red Hunter called a "lifer," meaning somebody who can't escape himself. I suppose we are all lifers. (less)
