- Bio: In a few short months Othello Woolf has come from quiet obscurity to rapidly rising as one of the acts to watch out for in 2010. Described as the next big thing by XFM’s Eddy Temple Morris; ‘Stand’ is an audacious amalgam of funk, new wave, R&B and synth-pop that has already picked up the remix treatment from Golden Silvers, Astronomer (Skull Juice’s Alex Egan) and XL’s Rodaidh McDonald (The XX, The Horrors); he is swiftly becoming the name on everybody’s lips.
With an aesthetic crafted by the cream of young London’s designers and photographers including the critically lauded modern English label Casely Hayford (Joe Casely-Hayford OBE, designer to The Clash, and his son Charlie) and artwork shot by Mario Sorrenti’s former assistant Tyrone Lebon (i-D, Vivienne Westwood), 2010 could well be the year that Othello Woolf becomes the figurehead for a new wave of British talent.
Debut single ‘Stand’ will be released through Young & Lost Club Records on 18th January 2010. (less)
