- Bio: Stolen Recordings present a "free download and new video from My Sad Captains, taken from last year's debut album 'Here and Elsewhere' ("a melodic indie-pop classic in the making" Rough Trade Album Club).
Filtered through a hazy gauze of fuzzy samples and rolling drums, 'You Talk All Night' is a shuffling folk song that pits the past against the present and finds time to dwell on them both. It's not the kind of noise you often find being made by a London band; in fact, its twinkling brilliance and wearied melancholia are as far away from the city as pop can be. But heck, if music is about escapism then this long lazy afternoon of a record is a place for repeated visits.
The video was made in a barn in Cornwall whilst filming footage of MSC guitarist and artist Nick Goss for a Saatchi New Sensations 3 Minute wonder for Channel 4.
My Sad Captains will perform at the Tan Hill Festival curated by British Sea Power on 1 May and at the Josh Lilley Gallery in central London on 11 May.
