KINGDOM (aka Ezra Rubin) is a Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, and digital artist whose DJ sets and live performances have been gathering a rabid following over ... (more) the past year. KINGDOM raps on his own Lumberthug rave anthems, as well as producing “You Don’t Know Michelle” (by new all-female rap crew OMG MICHELLE), which was included on his recently released Official Mixtape Vol. 2. His mixes and productions fuse rarer styles like Baltimore Club, Chicago House, Crunk, UK Garage, Bassline, Reggaeton, Dubstep, Kwaito, and Hip-House.

He is also well known for his signature style: friendship bracelet lanyards holding a whistle around his neck, surrounded by an onslaught of prints and patterns, finished off with Timberlands and a fitted cap. Meanwhile, his animation skills demonstrate his visually aggressive portrayals of the things he loves most. Topics include vortexes, masks, stone walls, and special effects, all rendered in his trade-mark digital-mystical-psychedelic style.

The KINGDOM-produced track “You Don’t Know Michelle” was recently played on Annie Mac’s show on BBC radio, as well as receiving a great deal of blog praise including being posted on FLUOKIDS and PALMS OUT (two of the most popular music blogs). KINGDOM was also recently featured in the “Live 2007” section of i-D magazine, as well as an article on the FADER magazine blog. In April of 2008 KINGDOM will be hosting mixtape release parties in Los Angeles and London, and
will be debuting his new party CLUB VORTEX in at Monkeytown (NYC). KINGDOM holds DJ residencies at Happy Ending (NYC), Mr. Black (NYC) and Milky Way (Boston) in addition to frequent guest sets at The Cock (NYC) and Mustache Mondays (Los Angeles).
