- Bio: Kid Mud is the brainchild of Sean Duncan, an indie rock vet whose prior credits include recording with Jason Lytle and opening for Death Cab For Cutie. Feeling at his lowest, Duncan began writing at a furious pace, recording several songs a week in a makeshift home recording studio. After releasing an EP of tracks in which he played every instrument, Duncan decided to gather a horde of collaborators for his debut full length. The resulting album – Now They Shut Us Down is a mix of home recordings and studio ones. It subverts singer/songwriter norms with lush instrumentation and computer blips and beats. Its lyrics tell a story of both emptiness and redemption. These songs are distinctly Duncan – and distinctly Kid Mud. (less)
