- Bio: US born (New York) RJ Valeo is an electronic music producer, live performer, and event curator. Influenced by microsound, glitch, techno, new wave, idm, and industrial, his ‘Isomer Transition’ moniker is used for post-modern digital futurist dance music that shows these roots proudly.
Opting to develop his own style rather than fit neatly into an established genre, his Isomer Transition compositions range from deep and dubby tech-groovers to in-your-face energy filled dance floor movers. All the while keeping the productions thick with intent, massive mix depth, and an undeniable groove. With an inclusion on the upcoming Fabric 46 mix CD by Claude VonStroke (of Dirtybird fame) Isomer Transition is gaining momentum and climbing the ranks of up-and-coming producers from the US.
As RJ Valeo his productions take on a more clinical mask, focusing on micro grooves and minimally placed melodic elements. Never one to repeat himself the output of both monikers is constantly evolving.
He was a co-founder of the BAP and BAPLAB series of art and music events held in NYC from 2005-2006 that drew over 3000 people to Brooklyn. Valeo continues to search out new technology and software and use it in his compositions
Currently RJ is producing and promoting a monthly event in Brooklyn called ‘The Future Is Beautiful’. The event focuses on live electronic music performances, and features everything from drone improvs to experimental dance music. The goal of the night is to provide a forum for, and expose audiencesto the vast spectrum of electronic music emanating from NYC and Brooklyn.
In addition to continuing to release on Archipel Musique, Valeo is launching his own record label called Io Records (named after Jupiter’s moon), focusing on his more experimental and other beat-centric productions.
Having a vision that expands beyond music, and being influenced heavily by science fiction, all of the ‘Isomer Transition’ releases are part of a story told throughout the different EPs and songs, using the titles as clues. The story exists on the artist’s website, one must look carefully to find it as the links to it are hidden in the tags on the posts. (less)
