Chairlift formed in 2006 in Boulder, CO within the indie-folk scene. The trio is comprised of Caroline Polachek, art student, Aaron Pfenning, film student, and Patrick Wimberly, jazz student. The relocation of the band to New York has demanded deeper consideration of the polarities between honesty and irony, strange and familiar, modern and vintage, and anonymity and communion. Their debut full-length release is expected out Spring 2008.
