Bio: Buildings (aka bldgs) is not even a year old (in its current lineup, anyway) and is already one of the most interesting bands in DC, according to literally every moderate-to-high-IQ music-head who's seen their handful of shows so far.
The two-guitar/bass/drums axis is in play, but this is a unit involving Collin Crowe, the crazed and damaged brainiac behind the late, lamented Sentai. You can count on it not being the typical post-whatever clone lamery that's clogging our earholes all too often these days.
This band already has its own voice, both guitar- and songwise, and Collin and his cohorts David, Andrea and Nick have whipped together a stimulating and heady mélange of coruscating hyper-nowism. It's sweet, it's weird, and it’s here, ready for juicing.
The group is currently spread between Washington, DC and Brooklyn, NY and formed after Collin and David began playing together nearly two years ago. After some lineup changes, the current members coalesced in December 2008.
Oh, and it's not "buildings" as in structures, not architectural ones anyway, it's "buildings" as in "they make sounds that build." To which I say, "huzzah, more please."
