- Bio: Experimental popster Absofacto (Jonathan Visger from Mason Proper) reimagined and remixed the beloved Syracuse band Ra Ra Riot's "Each Year" in a very different way. The bouncy disco beat of the original has been replaced by a swinging half-time feel, and the jittery wall of sound has been chopped and edited down to create an airy, slinky groove. As with his LCD Soundsystem/Kanye West mashup/cover last year, the biggest surprise here is how naturally the seemingly disparate elements fit together.
Ra Ra Riot is finishing up their second album which will be out in the near future, and Jon is releasing monthly "pay what you want" singles at absofacto.com, while concurrently working on the third Mason Proper album.
The Silent Giants, the original designers of the cover of Ra Ra Riot's "The Rhumb Line," also make all the artwork for Absofacto. For this remix they blended the imagery of Ra Ra's cover with the gritty texture and style they use for Absofacto's art.
