- Bio: In 2005, James T. Cotton teamed up with then roommate D’Marc Cantu to create 2 AM/FM, an unflinching take on pure techno and house. Their first releases, Pt. 1 and 2 featured raw drum boxes and cavernous synths in line with the
sound of Rephlex and Trax Records. Unapologetically avoiding contemporary, flashy production techniques, these EPs received support from DJ Koze, Laurent Garnier, and The Hacker among others. Their reinterpretation of “T-Y-O-C Painkillers” on Cotton’s Oochie Coo single is classic slowbeat acid at its finest.
